I downloaded a map from this site. I clicked load saved game and selected the map. It says that the saved data is from a newer version. Help? I patched my game, too.

What expansions do you have? did the map say if it required any? Thats all I can think of at the moment

Just checked desc of map. Doesn't say anything about expansions, under zoo tycoon maps category. I don't have any installed, but I can install them.

I have not heard of that problem for ZT1, just for ZT2 games created using the Zookeeper Collection or with MM2 installed.

For Zoo Tycoon 1, the original Zoo Tycoon with no expansion packs cannot load any saved games or maps that were created by someone using Marine Mania (MM) or Complete Collection (CC), even if the saved game or map did not use any features added by MM or CC. (To me, this was a big mistake by Blue Fang.) When you try, you will get the error you mentioned. Unfortunately, most (but not all) of the games and maps here were created in MM or CC.
