Zoo Tycoon 2: Arabian Nights allows zookeepers to adopt and raise a wide variety of animals including the wild hamadryas baboon and the beautiful Arabian partridge. The animals cover a range from Morocco in the west and India in the east to bring out the many flavors of this region. With an all new theme, players and their families will be able to bring out Arabia in their zoo with bazaars, treasure and much more.

They are committed to enhancing the Zoo Tycoon 2 experience with new and exciting content. Wow! This is a very good idea, when do you think it'll be ready though?
I hope the animals will look as good as a BF animal would and not just like a recolour (I'm sure they'll be great!).

I'm pretty sure that Artifex is not taking requests Venatosaurus. Another thing I'm sure of is that they wouldn't be making a fantasy expansion since all of the members in Artifex like to be very realistic. The list of animals and objects will be revealed in time. Even I don't know them yet. :slol:

i was wondering what those banners were for! this is going to be great! and the website is just...just...WOW! it's beautiful! ive NEVER attempted something like that before! this is one of the best things ever that ive ever seen! excuse me for a moment- *faints on floor from beauty of it all* im not even playing or just being nice, this is fantastic!
this may sound kind of cheesy, but its really touching to see all the designers get together like this. i wish you all the best of luck and many many bright mornings with your projects and Artifex. the website also touches me for some reason. its heart touching. i know, im weird, but this is a beautiful and heart felt idea you have here. i know, i know, you want me to be quiet. i will.

Yes, Arabian Nights will be free. ZT sites have never charged for downloads and I don't think they're going to start any time soon.

What kind of animals are there? On the boxart I can see some kind of equid, some kind of big-eared fox, the hyamadrayas, a couple of camels, some kind of brown thing in the water (possibly a seal of some kind), and a skull with a claw coming out of the grass nearby. Oh yeah, and a little kitty on the roof with a question mark above his wittle head. Goodness, that box cover is authentic right down to the little mice on the entrance!

im guessing the aniamsl are due to the cover...hamadryas baboon, arabian partridge, arabian stallion, ruppells fox, arabian wildcat,and syrian brown bear? Also if there is a horse will you use simbas mustang model? :faint

This is gonna be awesome. The guitar solo on the site is wicked and the box cover is awesome KK. How long did it take?

I think they're about 1/4 the way through, or less. We would have seen screenshots by now otherwise. What really creeps me out is how on earth they can keep so quiet... :eggerm

Very Official! :goodjob: great...And is the boxart gonna be the final thing or is there finishing touches, the concept it's cool, but it could be better......A lil' bit or you can just paint it in a paper and then scan it and do the finishing touches in the comp. Coz All Bf's boxarts are hand-painted and modified on the comp, hand drawing is the best, always, it's easier too!
Anyway that's just me, it's just a suggestion!

They didn't use the beaver model. They meshed a meerkat model by the looks of things, and meshing means you can create your own.

Yes, what happened to them?
And ofcourse it is made from a beaver 100% sure, as for the tail, it can EVEN be removed if you want to, that's not hard(removed meaning selecting all the vertices and shrinking them altogether, that makes the tail dissapear into a point)
In my point of view, I think the boxart could be better! :eggno

i love the animals you're putting in this pack so far! may i ask what kind of bear that is on the website? also i love how the caspian turtle has little "fingers" on the end of its flippers. really unique!

i know! hyraxes are like the coolest things ever. I love how the only thing that you can see on the outside relating them to elephants is little tiny tusks.

if you look, on the Artifex website, at the picture of the bear, you will see some new foliage, and in the ibex picture, there is an "arabian themed" shade structure. i hope i'm not ruining any secrets or anything, i just like the foliage and shelter!

i really cant wait for this to come out. there arent really any animals out there from Arabia (in terms of zoo tycoon animals) other than the arabian oryx. i like that Artifex is focusing on a lesser-known area of the world.

The rock hyrax is so cute!, I wonder...........Since its gonna be like a real exp. how loooong will it take to dl it? A demo with, umm....4 animals is taking ooooh....1 1/2 or 2 hrs, then will take like (4 animals, here 20 animals) So approximately, 4x5=20, so 2hrs x 5 is 10hrs, Oh my...There should be a solution right, are you releasing this in many small packs?

Since I've anwered this one at our forum, I'll go ahead and shed a little light for those of you who are worried about this part. Our plan is to release Arabian Nights in packs according to the XP required to run it.

I'm looking forward to AN(Arabian Nights). This going soo cool, twenty new animals for free of charge that's sooo sweet :clap:! I can't wait for the new animals such as the caspin turtles(More marine animals :clap:!) and the baboons(Looking for them since AA :clap:).

All that post really did was explain stuff we already know. Unless Artifex made it, nobody is allowed to use the hyrax model, and if Artifex made it they'd get a new model. Yes, we know how to get to te site. And considering Artifex has already made their 20 animal list and have no plans to take animal lists.

It's a user-made expansion, I don't think Blue Fang would be interested at all.

That's too bad. If people spend their time making downloads, Blue Fang should license it and make the animals official. I know you guys are spending a lot of time on this expansion, I think Blue Fang should recognize it.

Well if you're working that hard on it and you have your own box art, why wouldn't it be licensed? I think it should be. I only use blue fang animals in my game, but that's besides the point. That hard work should be "payed off".

We wanted to make a user-made expansion, for free, for you. If it was licensed, we'd have to charge for it, and no one wants that at all. Quality is assured - have a look at the other projects the members of Artifex have released, and it shall be released at ZA, where it will be thoroughly tested before it is available to make sure it works as it should do. Your thanks and enjoyment of what we will release is good enough for us, we simply don't need Blue Fang to recognise our efforts. We are making this expasion for you, the end users of ZT2, not them.
