Hmmm, maybe it's just like that, try re-installing your game. :)

If I remember correctly, it's some kind of bug in your system.

Do you have any hacks? You might want to do a clean install. And if you don't want to lose your rewards, save your options.xml file that's located in your C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft Games folder

Hope that helps!

Did you uninstal the entire game?  Both ZT2 and Endangered Species?  I had the same problem my first instal, but after reinstalling the entire game it was fixed.  If that does not work, then perhaps you could return it and get a new one.

Some males get mad if there is another male in the exhibit.  Same with females.  Try starting out with one of each.

after watching my animals more closely, i noticed that they're fine until they eat or drink, and then their happiness turns yellow, and then they just stand there and get mader

Could it be you're feeding them the wrong things? :sick  There seems to be a bug in XP with the Zookeeper recommendations. Try changing to one of the other foods listed, or, as I do, Read the Zoopedia info to see what they actually DO eat. ;)

Are they on the right biome? I've found that my endangered spieces get unhappy if their on a really wierd biome (like a caribou or musk oxen on rainforest instead of tundra).

I put two fennec foxes in an exhibit, gave them every kind of food that comes in that little silver dish and they're fine. So i've got 2 fennec fox babies. Freddy and Jake :)

Edit: I've now tried that with other animals and it doesn't work :sad

PS. I've got a whole bunch of foxes now :P

OH yeah - and you'll have more... and more... and more... they're prolific breeders (but cute as buttons!)  :happy  By the way, they eat berries out of a hollow log (that's their 'preferred' food). And, even though it says they don't need to drink, make sure and put a water bowl in their exhibit They like to live in the desert burrow, and, like flamingos, are terrific 'poo-ers'.  :(
I have tons of them ;)

My jeep tours also seem to not work. Nobody wants to ride them. Anyone have any ideas why?

Do you, or have EVER, had any hacks, downloads, etc that were not "official"? I'm still going with my theory that there is an issue with the install. When you uninstalled, did you go so far as to delete the game folder that was in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2 folder? (This is different that the other folder I told you NOT to delete).

I had an issue with my game because of a download that I tried and tried reinstalling but didn't delete that folder. When I reinstalled the game, still had the problem. So I uninstalled again and made sure I deleted that whole folder. No further problems when I reinstalled it the second time.

If that doesn't work, I'd contact the Microsoft Games Support http://www.microsoft.com/games/zootycoon/zoo2/support.asp

They live for this game...some of us here have lives. ;-)
