My computer has a few problems so  I am going to re-install Windows XP.

The problem is, I dont want to loose my zt2 stuff

What files should I save so that I wont loose zoos, completed scenarios, etc.

Your profile information, saved games, and the options.xml file I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

They should be in C:/Documents and Settings/your username/Application Data/Microsoft Games/Zoo Tycoon 2/Default Profile (or whatever one you use)

The folder called Saved and the options.xml must be kept safe :)

do you have another computer/laptop? you can copy your whole zt2 finer into the hard drive using a LAN connection, as a back up. then save the saved games back!: :) :

Your photos will also be in that folder.  Also, if you have more than 1 profile in the game, each profile will have its own saved games, photos and options.xml file and all should be saved.

I realize I'm late answering this, but make absolutely sure you've saved the entire FOLDER called:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURACTUALNAMEGOESHERE\Application Data\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2\Default Profile.

If you've installed ZT2 as "all users", also save:
C:\Documents and Settings\ALL USERS\Application Data\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2\Default Profile

and files you may have downloaded into C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2

You can use the Windows "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" to help, too. (Although, I always, always back things up to a CD).

you also need to save the options.txt, or else the saved games may not work right.: :( :

Yes, but that is inside the folders I named for them.

If these are hard what you need to do is, Go to start then search, then type any one of your saved game,s name(You must have known its name when you saved it?) and put search in the whole of my computer, then after sometime it will appear, then go to that destination and Copy them to a Cd with the options.xml which would be somewhere located in near the location of your saved games! If you cannot find that too then again search for "OPTIONS.xml" and find it.Then later when you install zt2 and its Xps again(that is if you have any)copy and paste these wherever first it was located from your Cd!
Hope this Helps!!
