Question about Variants

Hi all,

I searched before I created this, and I couldn't find the right thread explaining how variants work.

When you download variants, do you have to wait for them to appear at random, or do you have to do something in-game that makes them appear?

Hi Wendot,
You download the variants and place the .z2f file in the program directory, and when you place the animal the variants will appear at random each time you place one. The animals can have 4 variants in total, plus the main skin.

i beleive u need the graphics set on high in order to see the varients. or at least that is what i think.

Graphics only need to be set on medium for them to work, but you also need to have Endangered Species minimally installed as ZT2 lacks the coding for it.

Wendot, variants appear when you place animals.  Say you want three lions, and you've got some lion variants downloaded.  If you place those three lions, hopefully they may at random have the different skins!

Alright, thanks everyone. I didn't know they appeared at random, and I also didn't know that you had to place the animal before the variant appeared.
