I want to download the mini pony and the fjord downloads, however, I don't know how to do it! It saves as a compressed zip, and I don't know how to open that or save it as something else, and where do I want to save it to to get it to play in ZT2 Marine Mania?

put it in winzip right click go to extract and then desktop and open the files on the desktop keep the two that are not folders and put them in the zt2 folder

do you have the other expansion packs? cuz in your question you just say you have MM2. if you do not have the Endangered Species expansion pack, niether of those animals will work.

ok, so have winzip downloaded and downloaded the two animals, but when I go to extract it says there are no folders within???

What animals are you trying to download?
I REALLY suggest downloading WinRar, and follow the directions posted practically everywhere

The miniature pony and the Norweigan Fjord is what I'm trying to get at the moment.. I've read what to do once I get the files unzipped, but where I'm running into problems is I click on the download button, save it to winzip, and once in winzip when I right click the folder (it appears already unzipped) to click extract, it says the folder is invalid/no files..

no no dont save it TO winzip. Save it to your desktop or something and then right click and say "Extract" or something like that

Ugh, I quit... I've read through both ways to download into the game and have tried to use both Winzip and Winrar and CAN NOT get it to work.. Either I am MAJORLY computer illiterate or my computer is edited!

If you would just be a little more patient; we all run into problems sometimes, but because we are assisting you in a way where its not easy to see what's going on on your computer, and sometimes it takes a few tries to figure out what part of the process is the problem.

Are you trying to OPEN the files? If so, that could be the problem. You need to EXTRACT the contents to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2 :wink:

ok I have WinRar downloaded on my computer.... Right now I'm downloading/saving the mini pony to my desktop
ok, it's downloaded.. now do I extract the files directly to the zootycoon 2 file?

What I usually do is hit right click on the file (named dlver- something.zip) and hit Extract to... and then you can extract right to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2"

ok, Right clicked and extracted to ZT2, found the file under the creater name.. now what?
When I right clicked to extract it didn't give me a choice of 'extract to', just said 'extract files', 'extract here', and 'extract to (miniature horse file name)'

no, you need to just hit Extract to....and then find the location you want to extract to, not the file you want to extract

Oh okay, I gotcha, sorry. Go to "Extract Files..." and THEN navigate to the folder
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2

ok, file is now in zoo tycoon main file

ugh.. still don't have something right cause the animal didn't show up in the animal list... When it extracted the download, it added the file to the Zoo Tycoon 2 file as the creator name? Do I need to do something else?

I woudl just take it out of the folders and put the .z2f in the directory.
Or, you can try to locate
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2\downloads but you have to make hidden folders visible for that. Then you can put the creator folder in there

How do you make hidden folders visible?

In folder view, click Tools, Folder Options, View, and under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders. Then click OK.

OK... let me try to explain...:unsure:
First, go to WinZip/WinRAR and select the "extract" button. It should be on the top bar of buttons. Click that and a little box should pop up showing sevreal folder icons and such. At the top of the box, a file name should be displayed. Backspace it, and Copy and Paste this-C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2\downloads Click ok and your done!: :P :

I have had this same issue. I was able to successfully download the underground tunnel entrance (which is way cool!!), with no problems at all, but when I tried to download the transporter arch and the water bridge, I got zipped folders that were either corrupted or empty. Tried these more than once with no luck. Any ideas? I had no issues with extracting the tunnel files, placed them as directed, and all was well. The others seem to have a problem. Appreciate help, as these look like good items to have.

this section is for zt2 problems the files you mentioned are for zt1 and will not work with zt2
