you need to select the animal in the middle of all of those triangles (its in there i promise) and then go to view > local view

I can't get the animal into NifSkope. I just have NikSkope, no Blender, no 3D Maxis, JUST NIFSKOPE. I know somebody already asked a question like this, but they had Blender. I looked in the entites folder in the ZT2 folder, but nothing's there.

MM2 animals cannot be opened in Nifskope.

The way to open Nifs in NIF skope? Right click the NIF file and go to "Open With" and scroll to Nifskope. Viola

If you have something else you need to say, please use the edit button instead of double posting, which is against the rules. Thanks. Mika

entities > units > animals > AnimalName

it is in the files of whatever xp the animal came with. Lion in ZT2, Wolf is ES, Gerenuk in AA, etc.

I looked in a folder called "xp". There were three things, a DDS file called "EndangeredSpecies_icon.dds", an xml called "es" and another xml called "zoo2". I clicked on es, bu there was nothing about animals there. Now what? Sorry for all the questions, I am a total novice :(

You have to extract the file to a location (make a copy)
Then right click the Nif NOT in WinRar.

In the middle. You have to find a tiny bit of it sticking out...not always an easy task lol

Yes, you can, but you have to do it one vertice at a time and the vertices aren't labeled so first you have to figure out what they are. Really tedious and time-consuming, let me tell you. 0_o I've tried it with mixed success, but I just don't have enough time to fiddle with it these days.

how do you do it because on mine whenever i click on the animal it just rotates a bit.

also the animal definitely doesnt appear in the blender on my comp there is only a cube. i think it is because the plugin that i downloaded didnt work, when i click on it it says you muct have blender to install this to get blender go to....

Opening it in WinRar is the only way I can open the .zt2 file! Wait, that's the right location of the NIF file? x100_000 or something right?

yinyangwolf:  You have to actually -extract- the NIF file.  This means, when using WinRar and locating the NIF you want, clicking in the file and dragging it to another destination, or right clicking the file, select Extract to the specified folder, and chosing where to extract it to.  THEN you can open it in Nifskope.  Extracting a file from the .z2f in this way does not delete/remove the original file, therefore it is a copy.

I don't see a NIF file. Just some .bf files, .bfm files, .dds files, .txtkeys files, NetImmerse/Gamebryo files and an XML document. Which one do I want?

NetImmerse/Gamebryo file = NIF. Net Immerse File. NIF
