Should I get all of them, or just one? And which one should I get?

Yinyangwolf, I'd heartily reccommend you try making an animal that doesn't require mesh editing first, for practice, because some of your queries are very basic to animal-making and I wouldn't want you to get frustrated this early in the game!

Just the coding itself can be overwhelming, not even touching editing meshes!  I wish you good luck with your projects, but I would seriously consider making other user created content first before venturing into model editing.

I've 'meshed' an animal and coded it. It works fine but every now and again it flashes black. Does anyone know how to fix this?

what you have is a blinking effect and is a common poblem around meshing. It can be caused by any number of things.Holes in the mesh objects as i understand can cause this,Have vertical in the mesh object(meaning it is in the body of mesh),crosing to verticals together, ect. It may look godd in nif scope but in the game porbems arise.

I have a problem: When I import a nif into Blender, theres a loading bar, but after that, nothing happens. There's only a cube.  :ohmy

Your animal is in the middle of the cube, you must select View > Local View, and try to find part of the model sticking out from the triangles.

Thanks, I found it, but there wasn't anything sticking out, I had to turn wireframe mode on to find it.  :ty1:

It's imperative that you delete the cube before you import the animal, however, so make sure you do that! ;)

Yes, you must clear out everything from the area before you import anything new; this includes anything else you have been working on. If you don't then the models will get merged together (including the cube) and will mess up the number of vertices, etc, you have and make it impossible to ever getting it working in ZT2.

Thanks, I didn't know that before. The only problem with the edited models is that they cant perform certain actions such as drinking and just freeze. Well, I might have to try again...  :eggyes

I did a mesh, and followed the tutorial, but when I try to save it as a NIF, it says the mesh has no vertex color data.

You need to do more than one model, one for the high res/close up and at least one more for low res/far away

No, when you open a model in Blender for example, there's more than on eobject, and you have to edit the others, too.

Not in nifskope, when you edit in blender. I don't know where it is in nifskope.

well I tried getting blender, but it didn't work. I could only get the latest version but there is no nif importer for it and it got errors. So what am I gonna do with my meshed animals, cancel them. I will try 3dsmax see if that works but if not...

You need to actually download a nif importer for blender. 3DSMax is a 7,000 dollar program; I would suggest trying to get Blender to work first becaue I know for a fact that it works; Penguika uses it.
