APE?

I've downloaded APE, as I wanted to try my hand at some re-coloring...but when I open the file, a message pops up:
"Zoo Tycoon could no be found, or is not properly installed. Please re-install Zoo Tycoon. "

Is this a common problem?
Currently, I'm running ZT2 with the MM expansion.

APE only works for Zoo Tycoon 1, not ZT2 I'm afraid.  For ZT2 there is a tutorial called APEII which is normally available here but of course the downloads are currently unavailable.
