Accepted file formats - gif .jpeg .jpg .png
File Size - 38kb
Image Size 100x100 Pixels
if your avatar is not within the above bounderies (eg same format, file size, image size) then the board refuses and you get the messege.
Please make sure you follow ALL the image guidlines to sucessfully upload an avatar.

Animated pictures tend to of larger file size, so make sure it is not too big or contain a lot of frames.

Ah, that's why. It must be 75x75 or lower, otherwise the auto resize will get rid of the animation. You need to use a GIF animation program to resize it while keeping the animation intact.

You could use this Gif movie gear (http://www.download.dk/index.asp?Kat=multimedie&subkat=animatore&prog=701) i use it to resize too, this is only a trial, but if it's only for your little avatar, then you would have plenty of time to resize :lol:

Hey, I had a question about the avatars. :huh I tried to change my avatar to one that Zoo Animal made me, but when I did, it kept the avatar I had had of Jon Heder, so I removed it, and tried to upload the avatar from ZA again. However, the picture of Jon Heder showed back up. I don't know how to get ZA's avatar instead of my old one! I tried doing another picture for an avatar, but it goes back to Jon Heder. Anyone Have Answers? Thanks!

Upload avatar from your computer (hopefully it is not too big, but I don't think so as ZA made more avy's here) and then go to one of your posts to look. If the old avy is still visible press F5 to refresh. This normally works for most users.

What kind of file are you using Ktesch, maybe it is too big (38Kb) or a filetype it will not accept. But If you want I can make you an avatar.

They're Valentine's Day Avatars from other sites I'm on from my computer. One is 160x160, the other is 125x125.

You'll need to resize them to 100x100 or less.

It will resize the pixelsize by itself (if you check the box), but if the avatar is too big in memory size (max of 38Kb is allowed) you will have to resize in a graphics program

Thanks Peacenote, I did it with Adobe Elements 4, my Husband has adobe design bundle and he showed me how to do it in photo shop, but I found I could do it in elements as well. He has flash to but I am to lazy to learn that one.

You can upload a custom avatar by going to the user control panel --> edit avatar.

You either make the avatar yourself, or ask a friend (nicely) to do it for you. Either way, you should have the avatar saved in your hard disk. At the Edit Avatar page, scroll down to the "Custom Avatar" section, and check "Use Custom Avatar". Then at "Upload an Avatar From Your Computer:", click Browse, and find the image on your computer. Then finally, click Save Changes.
Quick Note: avatars can't be any larger than 100 x 100 pixels and the file size can't be larger than 37k. :-)

If you have MS paint like me just open up the picture select the picture type you want and save it under a new name i.e. Beagle 2 so that if it comes up with"saving into this format may cause color loss" you still have the original to go back to.
I do like your current one though.

Mine is of Kuroneko-sama, "Black Cat Lord" from the anime Trigun. She's a character that pops up in almost every episode. The only line she ever has is "Nya" which is the Japanese rendering of the noise cats make (ours is Meow). I'm basically obsessed, lol.

I made myself a new one, featuring another kitty from an anime, this time it's Inuyasha's Kirara (pronounced Kilala in the English dubs). Kirara has the cutest little mew/chirp, and this is only one of her forms. The other form she is large, has saber teeth, her feet and tails are wreathed in flame, and she can fly. Surprisingly she's still cute in that form :lolol: I like the show, and I love anime kitties, but this one is especially cute and is based on Japanese mythology, so its awesome.
I added the hat to her, and then the Katakana in the back reads Merii Kurisumasu - "Merry Christmas"

It's a kitty :crying: Shippo is a fox half demon, Kirara is most definitely based off of the mythological creature, nekomata, believed to metamorphose from domesticated cats. It was believed that after a cat reached ten years of age, its tail would slowly split into two tails, and along the way would develop magic powers, primarily those of necromancy and shamanism. By gesturing with its tails or with its forepaws (as it walked upright), nekomata were said to animate and control the dead. Some Japanese folk tales said that nekomata could shapeshift and become human in appearance
Kirara isn't much of a necromancer, however, and doesn't exhibit all of the traits of the nekomata, but the word "neko" is cat in japanese
And that, children, is today's lesson in Japanese mythology. :thumbsup:

It's the same concept as yours. Just try to use 50/50 of each Pokemon, and pick the best pallette.

Thanks for my avatar back Penguino, but I much more prefer this new one I've made featuring Japanese Koi. I also put "Mika" in hiragana in it, and tried to replicate it to look like old fashioned woodblock prints; I'm quite happy with it. As a pisces, a fish lover, and Asian culture nut, Koi are perfect for me :happy:

I've gone and changed my avatar (and no unlike some people I didn't steal it :P). It's Abbi of course lol but for once I actually edited a bit beyond just cropping it, hence the blue blotchy background (yes very uncreative I know).

I've been a blizzard fan for a long time; started with Starcraft, worked to Warcraft 3 and I'm currently a level 37 Tauren Hunter in World of Warcraft.
I'm not your average chic lol.

In Avatar news: I've just added a new section to the sites Avatars: "Holidays." Of course with Easter right upon us, it has a few in there for you to use if you wish. I will be adding more for other holidays soon.
If you don't know how to view these new avatars, Go to "Profile" at the top of the page, then under Modify Profile on the left hand side should be a link that says "Forum Profile Information." To select a site avatar, simply select the bubble next to "Personalized Picture" and select a category and then browse through the pictures available. If you find one you like, scroll to the bottom of the page and hit the "Change Profile" button at the bottom right of the page. If you were just looking, don't hit that and continue to browse the forums as usual; your avatar will only change if you hit Change Profile!!

Aww...I love cats. That one is really cute. I changed my avvie a whole uuuuhhhh...one time. Just as a joke for orangemonkey and then changed it back. Could someone help me find an avvie with a view of a giant sauropod as if you were standing on the ground looking up at its massive neck and torso? Long shot but I would appreciate it. :thumbsup:
