Can anyone tell me how to actually put food, embellishments, shelters, etc, into a conservation area? I am in the campaign where you have to take care of Baird Tapirs and mine are going to die if I don't get in to them soon :(   Thanks

You can easily place food/water into the Conservation areas. But it has to be either loose or in dishes/troughs. I don't believe any of the 'extras' (like terminte mounds or elevated dishes) will work there. You just place them as you would any other place. You can also place things like the pursuit ball in there. Hope that helps! :happy

I  have tried every way, I know I must be doing something wrong!  A message comes up with every single thing that I put in, and I have tried zillions of things, that you cannot put this, or that into a conservation area.  A baird tapir excaped and I could not even put that back into the area. I cannot pick up the ones in it and put them somewhere else, I can not put a zookeeper in, always the same red message.  I downloaded the challenge file Endangered Species Scenario from here, and Red not Dead had things in the area, but then when I tried I go the same message again.  Could I be doing something wrong? :sad

Sounds like just the one particular game scenario has a glitch in it. Hate to say this, but if I were you, I'd start that one over, because I know when I (and everyone else) did it, there was no problem putting stuff in there. That's just odd... :blink You've probably put a lot of time in on your zoo, but if I were you, I'd start that one over again.  :sad

Me again :sad , i started out the game{first one in endangered species campaign about conserving Baird Tapirs}, and this time put a zookeeper outside the gate of the conservation area. It {the area}did take the assignment post so I was optimistic. Sadly I still could not put anything in the areas perimeter, and also the red message came up that my zookeeper could not find a good location to place baird tapirs food, and another one about the water, and then the heartbreaking red thirsty and hungry signs were coming up one after another. The zookeeper could go in and rake poo, which was encouraging, but unless I figure this out my tapirs won't be making much "poo" for long.  I am going crazy with this.  :( .  I noticed in the download of the scenario that I got from ZA , that conservation area did have some bowls of food and water, and yet again, if I try to place even the same things its a no go.  I did win the scenario when using this download, but now it has become a private obsession to figure this out.  Also, in all my games the male tapir will go to the waterfall and drink, but the female will not go to it, and as I said before I can not move her, and she just gets madder and madder, which ofcourse I don't blame her,  but really, why not go to the pool!  { I did see the male actually drink, and his little thought line said drinking, at the pool}, but not eating, {as there was no actual food}, and he got madder and madder too. Does anyone have any ideas, or, could it be in my foundation gameware? Considering it happened in my games and in the download perhaps that is the problem {something with my initial software}.  I do not have a clue, and thought I would throw it out to the forums zoo people one more time. Thanks for reading this long message, if you did :)    P.S is there a post where you can learn how to make waterfalls?

To make waterfalls, create a cliff, choose water in the biome brush, and 'paint' the cliff area with it.

I have had this problem. This is the one with the Jaguar, am I correct? Well, you can take the Tapir's and place them in the Jaguar's exhibit. Than, place the Jaguar in the Tapir exhibit. I did that and I got everything they needed.

Thank you for answering me back, I dont seem to be generating much communication with this topic:].  After you took the bairds out, how did you get the jaguar into the coversation center.  He still shows red every place I set him down, {though strangely enough the red message doesnt come up for me at all anymore no matter what I am trying to put in there :blink }.  How did you manage it?  Thanks for helping

Gosh, MabelMom, gee, I'm SO sorry you're not getting much help on this, but I think it's because it's so odd that it's happening to you, that no one knows WHAT to tell you except for pikapower! :sad I haven't ever heard of anyone else having that problem. I had NO trouble putting food and toys in with my tapirs. Another suggestion is you build another exhibit for them, and take them OUT of there, where they can be properly cared for. The challenge doesn't say they have to stay in there, after all  ;) Same with the jaquar. Just don't leave anything in the Conservation area and see how that does.  :happy

That is a great idea, and I am definatly going to try it that way, {I have no problem with this[> ;)] type thinking:]}.   Also, i did not mean for my last post to seem a complaint, i realized right away i seemed to be a loner on this subject.  I was simply musing on my popularity, {or lack of in this case:]}, in that context.  Sorry for your concern  :sad

sorry, but what exactly are conservation areas, what do you get from them?  :blush

If you don't have ES, you don't get them. If you do, you'll see them in the ES topics. Since this has been answered - close.
