Okay, you MUST have the Endangered Species expansion to do this, and you MUST know how to use elevated paths.

So, make an exhibit:
 ____
|****|
|**A*|
|____|

Make another exhibit right next to it. (The can have a pathway in between, does not matter.)
 ____    ____
|****| |****|
|**A*| |**B*|
|____| |____|

Now build an elevated pathway between them. (P=elevated pathway)
 ____    ____
|****| |****|
|**APPPPPB*|
|____| |____|

Now, you can just leave it like that, or you can build a Jeep tour track on it. It's best to make sure you keep an eye on the animals in these exhibit and the can sometimes climb across the bridge into the other exhibit. And, fine, it's no unlimited, it is basically counted as the same amount of space and the two exhibits combined, but you get the idea. This trick works best with either big exhibits or mostly "free-roaming" or "Wildlife Reserve" zoo because of the big open spaces.

Give your guys' opinions or thoughts!

so do we leave it in the middle? how are people supposed to get to it? its stuck in the middle of nowhere? Good point though, for those who dont noe how to use elevated paths wisely. :) ;)

Well, yeah, the point isn't for the guests to use it, more just for the animal's happiness. You can build a Jeep roud across it though. Then it's less likely for animals to escape into other exhibits because of the Jeeps. You could also build a third leg to the path like this:

 ____    ____
|****| |****|
|**APPPPPB*|
|____|P|____|
*****P

Or something, but then you risk the animals getting out, or the guests getting in.....Lol!

:blink Guess I don't understand, but if you're talking about unlimited space only for the animals, why not just put a fence across the zoo entrance, and close the zoo? Then the animals could just wander around anywhere. Of course, you'd have to use Freeform mode to do that. :8

She's saying that when you use an elevated path from one exhibit to another it makes the animal's space rating go up. So you make an elevated path between 2 exhibits, but to make sure the animals don't go across the path, you put a jeep tour on it. Does this make since?

:happy  Okay, first of all, I'm a girl. Lol! And secondly, thanks! I might be posting some more tips up soon!

I actually found this out my accident. Want a screenshot of the first zoo I did this in?

You can also just combine to exibits into one and seperate the aniamls with elevated terrain

But when they walk on the elevated paths, their biome meter goes all the way red! :shocked

After reading this original idea I tried a slight variation....  using side by side exhibits with a common fence, I put up something solid (preferably a shelter) against the fence then remove 1 section of the fence.  Now I have a "double" exhibit just like the one above.  The only problem I have had from this is the continual (dedicated to the exhibit) zoo keepers message saying they can't get to something.  Next time I need to use this I plan to try dedicating the zoo keeper then giving them a keeper gate in the common fence to hopefully let them do the work and shut them up. :-)

This sounds intersting, mabye one exhit could be privete for resting and the other public for eating and playing.

That's a interesting idea! I know at some real zoos they have something to that effect but it is closed off during certain times so the people can see them! And the animals tend to hang around the feeders so thats good. I like the idea, and will try it out!

Actually, almost every zoo has off-exhibit areas for the animals.  The one major un-realistic thing about ZT2.  It would be pretty cool if they had off-exhibit buildings, or something.
How would you balcance the time in the private exhibit with the time in the public?  Seems like some animals wouldn't spend enough time in one or the other.

I make 2 exhibits, put a large shelter in the middle, and split the exhibit into 2. This way it's much easier. ;)

Just make a sanctuary every once in a while, you'll have unlimeted space, even if you do only house one animal!  :hehe
