Avian Murder Mysteries

My flamingos have a nasty habit of killing one another. If they were fighting or hunting one another, there would be a message saying "Greater Flamingo X has been attacked and killed!" but there isn't. My secretary birds have done the same thing - I put in one breeding pair and saw them coming together like they were going to groom or mate or something, but one of them flapped its wings and the other just died.

Does anyone else have this problem?

WackyPanda, Frist when ever a put two secretary birds together they ALLWAY kill each other probly instinks.
With your Flamingo's, Well once i watched a t.v program and said flamingos will some time kill/fight each other for mates or there own space.
I don't no if any of this will help you.

That makes sense. But when other animals fight for those reasons, a message will come up saying "X has been attacked and killed!" These killings don't, hence the topic title. I didn't know secretary birds always killed one another, but I don't use them that much. :hmmm:

Or maybe there's a bug with the message box...

That happens to my secretary birds too. i finish my enclosure and i go and work on another one and when i come back, one is killed (no message comes up either.) but for some reason, if my birds manage to not kill each other and become a breeding pair, they dont kill each other at all. thats why i put only 2 birds in an enclosure

The secretary birds don't kill each other all the time. They do sometimes, but not usually (at least not in my game). I'm not exactly sure why your flamingos and S. birds are killing each other. Maybe try giving them PLENTY of space, and a whole bunch of food, maybe then they will get along (everyone is happy with a big home and a full stomach).

Flamingos kill each other!? :surprise: I would never imagine them doing that! Besides, what could they do? Anyways, my secretary birds always kill each other. Usually, I'll have a male and female; the female will kill the male. Then I'll put in another male; they'll mate. That's how it always works for me. And it does bug me how it doesn't tell you that that happened. :pinch:

I keep flamingos a lot, and have never had that happen.

I dson't like secretary birds; I don't keep them.

W/ the flamingos, I'd start w/ one male, one female, and give them lots of space, and make sure each flamingo has a mate.

-RANDOM EDIT- Yeah! 100 posts!

the flamingos i've never seen do that. But the secretary birds, yes. The only tip I can offer is to start out with one secretary bird, wait about ten minutes, and then put another one in. That helps me most of the time.

Most of the animals, if they're too crowded, will fight over space. I have never known an animal (in ZooTycoon2 anyway) to kill another if they have a lot of space. But if it's a small exhibit, they'll kill each other. 0_0

I have the problem with the message box too. It's just a glitch, and happens a lot for me.

Secretary Birds like their space, and they will mate for life with the same partner, so two to an enclosure is plenty by their standards.

Flamingos I don't hardly ever use so good luck on that!
