Ok lets see if I can guide you through the easiest way to first get rid of the black background in the ZT 2 screenshotsa and then move on to resizing and putting your pics on imageshack and adding them to your post.

1. find the screenshot you want to add to your post.

3. use the selection tool - the rectangle made up of dotted lines to select the image. IBegin at the top left corner of the image and drag to the bottom right hand corner so all the image is selected. Notice the white dotted lines around the outside of the image. Click the thumbnail for a larger view of fig 4

Now that your image is selected go to the top menu bar and select edit then select cut. oops image is gone...but not for long. Go to file and select new. When it asks if you want to save the previous image you can say no if you have it saved already if done right you won't need to other image anyway and you can easily locate it again in your Photos folder if needed. When the new window opens with a blank area of white go to edit and then paste. You will now have a new sized image with no black background that you can now continue to resize. I is a good idea to save at this point in case of computer problems, power failuer etc. Always remember when working with graphics to save often. I have lost some good design stuff from NOT following this rule myself.

make note of the pixel size of my pic now as seen in the thumbnail it is now 799 x 597 pixels very close to 800 x 600 so when i continue with resizing you will get a close idea of what numbers to use yourself for resizing.

in the horizontal window change the 100 to 56

in the vertical window change the 100 to 56

click ok go to file and then Save as - see fig 9

fig. 9

Make sure you have filetype JPEG selected and click save.

entering 56 gives you an image size of 448 x 336 pixels and suitable for adding to your posts as an image attachment or for using on an image host.

On imageshack this is what a 448 x 336 image looks like when added properly. You can still get a good image showing what you want for others to see and the forums page does not scroll sideways so the image meets the forum rules for image posting.
