I was wondering how endangered the animals in Zoo Tycoon 2: Endangered Species are. So, I made this to see what others think. Or know...
Here's what I think:

Giant Sable Antelope: Endangered
Spectacled Bear: Endangered or Critically Endangered
American Bison: Threatened or Endangered
Caribou: Threatened or Endangered
Fennec Fox: Threatened or Endangered
Crested Gibbon: Endangered or Critically Endangered
Przwalski's Wild Horse: Endangered
Koala: Threatened or Lower Risk
Komodo Dragon: Endangered
Spanish Lynx: Endangered or Critically Endangered
Markhor: Endangered
Orangutan: Endangered
Scimitar Horned Oryx: Endangered or Critically Endangered
Flordia Panther: Endangered
Javan Rhinoceros: Critically Endangered
Baird's Tapir: Endangered
Galapgos Tortoise: Endangered
African Wild Dog: Endangered
Gray Wolf: Threatened
Wolverine: Threatened or Endangered

This is according to an encyclopedia I use and various other online sources:

Giant Sable Antelope -- Critically Endangered
Spectacled Bear -- Vulnerable
American Bison -- Lower Risk
Caribou -- Non-threatened
Fennec Fox -- Unknown/Non-threatened
Crested Gibbon -- Endangered
Przewalski's Wild Horse -- Extinct in Wild
Koala -- Lower Risk
Komodo Dragon -- Vulnerable
Spanish Lynx -- Critically Endangered
Markhor -- Endangered
Orangutan -- Endangered
Scimitar-Horned Oryx -- Critically Endangered
Florida Panther -- Endangered
Javan Rhinoceros -- Critically Endangered
Baird's Tapir -- Endangered
Galapagos Tortoise -- Endangered
African Wild Dog -- Endangered
Gray Wolf -- Lower Risk
Wolverine -- Vulnerable

Tyto, the spectacled bear is slightly endangered, and the komodo dragon is very endangered, otherwise that list is correct.

not quite true as chester zoo and some other zoo released a few into the wild a while back, OK not there native land but they are still leaving wild.

and did you know at one point there was only 12 left in the world but captive breeding has brought that number up into the hundreds

:w00t a almost extinct animal, that's so cool to have in the game, but its horrible that it is extinct in the wild

i wish they had put the south china tiger in there because they are by far the most endangered tiger and basically extinct in the wild and zt2 only has 1 tiger at the moment. hopefully they will make it available for download.

I was also thinking about the endangered animals in ZT2 not Endangered Species. There are quite a lot especially the Giant Panda.

List critique:(caribou: non-threatened) The woodland caribou is a critically endangered species, so is Peary's caribou. :erm

That other zoo would be San Diego Wild Animal Park. I was just there and saw there exhibit. However, BLue Fang has always been wrong with them: even in ZT1 they made there biome grassland, when they really come from the mongolian steppe, where it is not grassy but rocky and mountainous.

ilovemyweasel, it is already up for download (like martin1990 said). Look in ZT2 downloads and animals, it is made by Czar.

I agree Gizmo1945, the Prezwalski's Wild Horse should be alpine, not grassland.

Well, we don't know what type of caribou we're having with the game. As a whole, the caribou species is not endangered.

Wow, my list was mostly off. I new the PW Horse was extinct in the wild and I knew for fact that the Javan Rhinoceros was crtically endangered.

Yeah, but aren't their a few of the P's Horse in the wild? I saw a documentry on them, saying that there are a few.........but I think those horses are in preserves....it was a while back :blink

There may be still very few Prezwalski's Wild Horses in the wild in Mongolia, the Javan Rhinoceros is threatened, last I looked, I thought it was?

Prezwalski's Horse isn't extinct in the wild, they are realising a small amount every year in the wild, I saw a documentary on it not too long ago. I disagree with you Zoo the biome should be grassland, the live in grassy slopes in Mongolia and other countries close to Mongolia, they don't live in Mountains with trees and snow.
