Once again I'd like to thank everyone for your wonderful comments .

We now move back towards the asiatic bear exhibit and then past it to the right. There we discover a path that leads to the zoo's narwhal exhibit.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-41.jpg
We head to the right end of the tank...
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-42.jpg
and come across a small food court
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-43.jpg
and an excellent view of the narwhals in their arctic home.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-44.jpg
And now pictures of the narwhal pod. First we spot the males
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-45.jpg
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-46.jpg
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-49.jpg
and then one of the females comes into view.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-47.jpg
These three are enjoying a nap under the kelp beds that grow in the tank's shallows.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-48.jpg
And an exhibit overview.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-50.jpg

I'll post pictures of the zoos next exhibit on Saturday.

After visiting the the narwhal tank for some time we decide to move on the another exhibit. We walk around the tank wall and spot a narrow path hidden amongst the zoo's dense foliage.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-51.jpg
As we near closer we see what appears to be some sort of covered viewing area with glass windows through which to see the animals.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-52.jpg
Upon entering the structure we see a herd of white rhinos, the scrub exhibits massive inhabitants.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-53.jpg
We get a view of three more from one of the side windows.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-54.jpg
This one seems to be relaxing by the lake.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-55.jpg
And a shot of the viewing area from inside the exhibit.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-56.jpg
We exit the glass window viewing area and circle around the exhibit to find a second relaxing spot from which we can sit and watch the rhinos. Let's hope LadyZ doesn't mind my using a checkerboard path here.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-57.jpg
We spot one of the rhinos.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-58.jpg
And lastly an exhibit overview.

Sorry for not posting any pictures for the last while but I've had a lot going on and playing Zoo Tycoon wasn't my top priority. However I've recently finished a new zoo and thought I might show some pictures.

I've called the zoo "Island Zoo" because... well it's got a bunch of islands scattered throughout the map (yeah I'm not very creative:lolol:). Unfortunately it didn't come out quite as I had hoped since the water area is divided up into numerous marine exhibits so it sort of lost the whole island look. Anyways here it is.

First the entrance. I'm happy with how it came out, it's not that decorated but it looks nice and peaceful.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-65.jpg
As we keep walking we see a restaurant and bathroom tucked behind a fountain.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-64.jpg
To the left of the restaurant is an elevated path that offers a view of the land section of the sea lion/false killer whale exhibit.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-63.jpg
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-62.jpg
And an overview of the entrance.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-60.jpg

That's all I can show you for now. Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures of the underwater viewing are for the sea lion/false killer whale exhibit tomorrow.

Very nice pics, sheltiefan! I like the way you have different levels of elevation. I tend not to do that so much - I miss the 'steps' facility of zt1. : :( :

Looking forward to seeing the underwater pics! : :) :

Wow! Beautiful pictures! I agree with everyone else, the elevation you kept is marvelous! Unfortunately, one of the first things I usually do is flatten out everything so I can build where I want *Bad Nique*... lol... I must try keeping it more natural like you have done - it's sooo pretty! I'll be looking forward to new pictures when you get the opportunity!

Thanks so much everyone  your all great. Although I must admit this is one of the rare times I have used elevation generally my zoos are totally level. And Seraphii, I wouldn't even compare my zoos to Earls lol but thanks just the same.

All right so here is the underwater portion of the sea lion/false killer whale exhibit.
First the path leading up to it.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-66.jpg
And we head down to the underwater viewing area.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-67.jpg
A water level look at the exhibit.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-69.jpg
The viewing area.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-68.jpg
And the exhibit form the guests' perspectives.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-70.jpg
Finally a couple cute pics of the exhibits animals. First a false killer whale
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-71.jpg
And a couple of sea lions shots
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-72.jpg
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-73.jpg
Finally an overview of the entire exhibit.

Heading back towards the food court you notice an elevated path leading off to the right side of the zoo.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-84.jpg
and decide to see where it goes.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-83.jpg
After getting to the end of that path you come across yet another one.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-82.jpg
After crossing it you spot an exhibit filled with lively ibex. A big thanks to KK here for her wonderful ibex reskin .
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-81.jpg
And now some ibex shots. Here I was trying to take a pic of the female in the background but a second one decided to jump in and ruin the shot lol.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-80.jpg
And this time she looked away from the camera :pinch:.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-79.jpg
One of the males eating.
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-78.jpg
And the babies
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-77.jpg
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/sheltiefan_2006/Zoo%202/enlarged-76.jpg
