Have you played with other settings around the graphical settings? Some of the problems you are experiencing sound like you have problems with anti-aliasing and other things. I would mess with some of the other settings in there, even if you didn't mess with them before, and try that out. It's possible that when you went to Windowed mode it (for some reason) messed with them FOR you, so go play around with them and see if that helps at all. You say you uninstalled, etc, but unless you got rid of your profile information too, which it doesn't sound like you did, then this is the real problem. It may be necessary to just start a new profile even; instead of using default, make one with your name or a nickname or something; it will give you "default" graphics settings which could save you the time of having to try to figure out which setting needs to be messed with. Any zoos, etc, that you want to keep you can get to the profiles by going to Start Menu > All Programs > Microsoft Games > Zoo Tycoon 2 > Zoo Tycoon 2 Profiles and then just copy files from Default > Saved or whatever your old profile name is and copy them to a new folder. Make the new profile FIRST before doing this would be wise, rather than trying to make a folder for it, so that you know the game will recognize it.

Hopefully my overly long post will offer you SOME help lol. Let us know how it goes!
