I haven't tried Tyrannosaurs yet, but I have kept a Spinosaurus in a reinforced concrete and glass fence for over a year (game time) by lowering the entire exhibit 4 notches.
Additionally, The zookeeper can enter and exit the gate this way, even though it doesn't look like he could.

It soo doesn't matter, Ditches make one tiled bridge to actual area, make the entrance fence of the zookeeper the best fence, the ditches will be one tile to fence, all the way down, add trees for happiness before placing them down, add the tank pieces without placing a full tank, so you are the very closest to safety and money and excitement.

These animals all seemed easy to me. The animals i have trouble with are the stupid polar bears. Just today I had one swim through my tank wall (like a ghost going through a wall) and some how get in to my humpback whale tank o.O' The other polar bear was fine but the second one just plain wouldn't stay in his home.
