Cannot Join ZT1 Downloads Site
« on: June 23, 2011, 04:17:14 AM »
I'm having a little trouble. I want to share my ZT1 creations, but I can't join the downloads site. Please forgive me if I'm not supposed to post this here, but I'm kind of new. Thanks.

The downloads site is still trying to recover downloads and put together packs, so the site doesn't allow signin's and registration to anyone yet. But it will be up and running soon like it used to be again, I hope. Guess you'll just have to wait until then. Here's a link to more info about it from all the staff at Zoo Admin. Hope this Helps!

PS: I know it says it's for Zoo Tycoon 2 on the info, but it goes for Zoo Tycoon as well because they both share the same downloads site. Just for clarification for you.

I want to create and share basic scenery objects and possibly custom animals in the future.

Thank you. I plan on submitting a few of my objects soon.  :ty

Oh and by the way. Is there per chance a faster way to make animations other than frame by frame? APE is making things very difficult by auto cropping each frame that I save.  :bang

I have not seen APE autocrop images. It keeps whatever canvas size was originally used. Because of this, though, I autocrop all images I do within the graphics program because that makes smaller ZT images. However, that takes more time for animations that extend beyond the basic image because then each frame has to have its position adjusted individually. The Zoot tool as of version 1.1 allows adjusting the positions of individual frames. The Zoot tool also allows loading animations, but that is not necessarily any faster than APE since it does not create ".ani" files.

You see, I'm working on a torch scenery object. In some frames, the image extends to 58 pixels high, but in some it only goes to 57 or 56. So it autocrops to where the actual object stops, making the object appear to "jump" in a few frames.
