I have a question do compost heaps need to be connected to a path to work or like ZT1 can be put in a corner and be just fine?

I found that they need a path for your maintenance worker to empty them.

You don't have to have a path though - you can empty them yourself in guest mode

I put them in an area enclosed with non see through gates with a staff door for in and out zookeepers. And that is all i now of that works. :)
