Zoo challenge:hunting/catching prey?
« on: January 14, 2007, 11:04:36 PM »
Running my first zoo I've recieved the challenge of getting pictures of an animal hunting/catching prey.
When I've put say a emp ping into a polar bear exhibit I see the bear is stalking but Ive never see anything actually catching its prey.
So all In all I just cant seem to get a picture of hunting or preying.

What can I do??

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

Make sure that the animal is hungry. They will stalk for fun, but won't kill unless hungry.

Neither have I, although I might - I could never get this challenge either, even though I left my lions all alone in their exhibit with no food, just a little Thommy gazelle. How the gazelle survived, I have no idea, but they still haven't killed it...

I've seen polar bears hunt before. You have to wait until the polar bear's hunger need turns yellow and it says "pressing".

i put a otter in a snow leopards cage but when i clicked on the leopard to see what exactly it was doing it said it was hunting the otter so i quickly took a picture but it didn't recognise that the leopard was actually hunting

hmmm.. I think for this one I used a cheetah and a thomsan's gazelle.  You just have to make sure that the predator is hungary.  If you want to save the prey, pause the game right after you take the photo.

You're right. Make a tundra exhibit and put a polar bear on it (don't place meat) and then, a lot of penguins (3 or 4 should make the trick), just wait until the polar bear swipes a penguin. The little bird should fall due to the swipes and bingo, there's your picture.
